McCain Performance Series offers Leno, MacLaine, Dracula, Shakespeare and more in 2015-2016

Friday, June 12, 2015

MANHATTAN — The star power has never been brighter for the McCain Performance Series at Kansas State University. The 2015-2016 season features shows by screen and stage legend Shirley MacLaine, late-night comedy king Jay Leno, Tony and Emmy Award-winning singer and actress Kristin Chenoweth, music giants The Beach Boys and Broadway hits such as "ONCE the Musical" and "Ragtime."

"This past season was tremendously successful. More people enjoyed shows at McCain than ever before," said Todd Holmberg, McCain director. "The season ahead will certainly give plenty of reasons for people to return or discover McCain for the first time."

Season tickets for the upcoming McCain Performance Series will go on sale June 17, with discounts available for those who subscribe to seven or more events. Single tickets will be available starting July 26. To get priority seating, join the Friends of McCain with a season ticket order by July 2. Friends members receive other exclusive privileges, including invitations to meet the artists, free parking and access to the Director's Lounge before shows and at intermission. Benefits vary by donation level.

The McCain series will kick off Sept. 3 with the Charlie Daniels Band, the iconic country and Southern rock group. Before the season is out, McCain will be host to Leno, the Emmy Award-winning "Tonight Show" host; special evenings with MacLaine and Chenoweth; Broadway hits "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, "Flashdance the Musical" and more; music by the Robert Cray Band, Chris Botti, Branford Marsalis, Aaron Neville, Vienna Boys Choir, Canadian Brass and other noted acts; plus ballet and modern dance performances, a Shakespeare classic and much more. Cherish The Ladies will provide a Celtic fix before St. Paddy's Day and Dracula will drop by just in time for Halloween.

Tickets can be purchased at the McCain Auditorium box office or by calling 785-532-6428. A downloadable brochure is available online at http://www.k-state.edu/mccain. McCain also continues to offer discounts to the military and Kansas State University students, faculty and staff.

Separate from this season's 30-show lineup is the McCain Home Tour, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6. The tour, a fundraiser for the performance series by the Friends of McCain, will feature four homes decked out for the holidays. Tickets will be available later this year and are not part of the McCain season ticket offerings.
