University's annual Dialog on Sustainability July 20 at Seaton Hall

MANHATTAN -- "Global Perspectives and Local Action" is the title of the eighth annual Dialog on Sustainability set for Saturday, July 20, in 63 Seaton Hall at Kansas State University. The event is open to the public and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hosted by the Consortium for Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability and its partners, administrative leadership of the consortium is provided by the university's Center for Hazardous Substance Research in the College of Engineering.

Topics will cover policies and actions to decrease greenhouse gas emissions and make communities more sustainable and resilient. Scott White, founder of the Kansas Energy Information Network, will present on wind energy in Kansas, and Oral Saulters, program associate with the Center for Hazardous Substance Research, will speak on sustainability policy.

Among this year's participants will be 19 youth from Europe who are taking part in the Summer Institute for European Student Leaders on Environmental Stewardship program, hosted by Engineering Extension in the College of Engineering and sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
