A team of K-State students in interior design and architecture
placed second overall at the eighth annual Interior Design Educators
Council student design competition in Sante Fe, N.M., March 19-24.
The regional competition chose two entries, both from K-State,
to represent the Midwest region March 7. The two teams then competed
at the international competition with other regional winners.
The competition requires teams of no more than five students,
with the majority of team members from interior design and one
of the team members from a different discipline. The teams were
given seven calendar days to design an adaptable and inspiring
space based on several choices in design themes. K-State teams
submitted their designs on compact disc in a digital slide show
format. Ryadi Adityavarman, assistant professor of interior design,
was faculty sponsor for both design teams. March 2002
