Trademark licensing exists to protect and promote the names, marks, logos of Kansas State University. We are administered under the office of the Vice President for Institutional Advancement.

After reading the licensing policy, to start the licensing process you need to complete the application and return it to the Institutional Advancement Office. If you have made any sample products we encourage you to send those with your application.
The royalty rate for K-State is 10 percent of wholesale. To figure the wholesale value of your item, please remember every item has a cost, wholesale, and retail. The wholesale value typically is 50 percent of the retail price.
Each item that you sell will need to have an officially licensed sticker on it. This signifies that you are licensed and paying the appropriate royalties. When your signed contract and advance royalty check is received you will receive 25 of these stickers initially and then any additional stickers that you will need can be purchased through our office at 25 for a $1.
