Yibo comes from Luohe, a beautiful city in China. He started his undergraduate degree in E-business at Henan University. After two years of studying, he decided to transfer to Kansas State University and switched his major to Biology with a Pre-Medicine emphasis. Yibo joined KLRC in the summer of 2017, and his project was to explore the characterization of GDSL lipase under basal and stress conditions. During his research time, Yibo won the Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry Research Award, the Johnson Cancer Research Scholarship twice, and the Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarship twice. After graduating with his bachelor’s degree in 2019, Yibo completed his MPH degree at Kansas State University in 2021. Yibo also met his wife, Bailey Johnson, at Kansas State University, and his wife is currently studying to become a Physician Assistant. Yibo lives with his wife in Wichita, KS, and is a medical student at Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Yibo is planning to become a cardiothoracic surgeon after graduating from medical school.
