Abdulrahman grew up in Iraq and then moved to Manhattan, Kansas, in 2013. He earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from Kansas State University and was an undergraduate research student at KLRC from January 2019 to August 2021. At KLRC, he worked on studying genes of Buglossoides arvensis that yield production of nutritional fatty acids, and confirming transformation of those genes in Arabidopsis thaliana through lipidome analysis and gas chromatography. Abdulrahman is currently completing his Ph.D. in microbiology at the University of Kansas.
