Employment Opportunities

The Mary Lynn and Warren Staley School of Leadership Studies offers several opportunities for current students, graduate students and professionals to work with us. For specific opportunities available at this time, please find the category below that best describes you and contact our office if you have questions.  Please check this page frequently, as opportunities change throughout the year. 

For Current K-State students

Are you interested in working while at K-State? Leadership Studies has opportunities, right on campus!

Student Staff: Students work in a variety of work capacities including leading building tours, interacting with prospective students, assisting faculty/staff with projects, answering telephones, and other administrative duties. Please fill out the Employment Application and include your resume and current class schedule.  We are not currently hiring for student staff. 

LEAD 212 Class Leaders: LEAD 212 Class Leaders are junior or senior Leadership Studies minors who help teach the large lecture sections of LEAD 212 - Introduction to Leadership Concepts. The application process begins in the spring semester every year.

Class Leader Applications are currently not being accepted. Application Packets for the following year are usually available in December and January. Please check back later.

Academic MentorsAcademic Mentor applications are accepted at any time during the year, including summer, but the selection process usually starts at the beginning of each semester.  A completed Academic Mentoring application can be submitted via email at amentor@k-state.edu or turned into the Leadership Studies Building.

Program Coordinators: Students work with and lead our various programs at the Staley School.  Students are responsible for coordinating and leading each program.  See the "Get Involved" tab to learn more about each program.  Applications are accepted at various times for each program. 

Academic Mentoring: Applications are not being accepted at this time.

Alternative Breaks: Applications are not being accepted at this time.

HandsOn Kansas State: Applications are not being accepted at this time.

International Service Teams: Applications are not being accepted at this time.

Manhattan Good Neighbors: Applications are not being accepted at this time.

Public Relations Coordinators: Applications are not being accepted at time.

For Graduate Students

Graduate teaching and research assistantships are available each year for qualified candidates. Teaching Assistant duties consist of teaching and related activities associated with undergraduate students. Research Assistant duties consist of working under the direction of a major professor. The total time commitment is approximately 20 hours per week and includes a tuition waiver and stipend.
