- About the K-State Child Development Center
- The K-State Child Development Center is a non-profit organization designed
to support the K-State community by providing quality care and learning
experiences for young children of faculty, staff, students and alumni.
The center also provides a place for K-State students to work, do
course-work obseravations, practicums and internships. The Center currently
offers four different developmentally designed programs to meet the needs
of the five different age groups of the children we serve, from 1 year to
12 years of age.
- The Center has as its goal the nurturing of the whole child. Central to
the care of the children are our lead teachers, who have educational/professional
backgrounds in Early Childhood Education or related fields, and provide
appropriate learning and nurturing experiences.
- The multicultural and non-sexist philosophy of the Center enriches the
curriculum to challenge concepts imposed by stereotyping. The University
itself provides many valuable resources for the children which include
educational field trips, practicum students from various departments
(theater, dance, early education, etc.) and a wealth of information and
support from the faculty, staff, students and alumni who continue to enrich
our program in many ways.
