Connecting to K-State Zimbra

K-State's webmail client is one way K-Staters can access K-State Zimbra. In order to be able to use the full set of Zimbra features at K-State, you should use the webmail client or the desktop client. K-State supports several other clients for reading your e-mail and viewing your calendar, but they will not provide the full Zimbra experience.

Connecting with mobile devices

Zimbra's Mobile interface

Zimbra's mobile interface allows you to easily sign into Zimbra using a web browser on your mobile device.

Mobile device configuration

There are new mobile devices being released regularly from nearly every cellular service provider. As a result, not every device has been tested with K-State systems. Please consult with IT Help Desk or your information technology support person before purchasing a device to determine if it provides the specific functionality you require.

BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES)

If you have a Blackberry and do not want to use the free, mobile-web interface, you will also have the option to pay for the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) service that will automatically sync in real-time your Blackberry calendar with your K-State Zimbra Calendar. About BES:

  • Some cellphone providers require an enterprise data plan or BES-enabled account, which can add a minimum of $10 per month to a cellular data plan.
  • Getting set up with this service will require the assistance of technical support staff to minimize the risk of data loss and ensure the BlackBerry is connected properly to the system.

For more information and to apply for the service, fill out the required BES activation authorization form (PDF).
