The Hound of the Baskervilles
| Level of Book: Medium |
Types of Book: Mystery |
Time Period: Late 1880's |
Location: England |
Summary: The Hound of the Baskervilles is a murder-mystery set in England during the late 1800's. The story is told by Dr. Watson who is the assistant for the great detective Mr. Sherlock Holmes. This mystery is interesting because it involves a legendary hound that supposedly kills anyone who crosses the moor at night. Unfortunately, this moor is traveled on by the local residents even when the fear of the hound is a threat. After a body is found dead on the moor with no apparent markings of the hound, Mr. Sherlock Holmes is called to figure out exactly who or what committed the crime.
Recommendation: This book should be read by fans of mysteries and folk tales, as well as by anyone who likes to solve mysterious cases for themselves.
