What is a community coach?

Community coaching is built on the understanding that community change is most effective when community members have the skills to design a planned, inclusive approach to community change. Community coaching is focused on building economically viable communities, renewing civic engagement and enhancing community decision making and governance.

Coaches participating in this workshop will gain community planning perspectives and skills to leverage community investments for long-term community health and stability.

Coordinated by the KSU Center for Engagement and Community Development, this workshop builds on resources created by the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development and draws on the expertise of Research and Extension, USDA Rural Development, the Kansas Department of Commerce, Division for Rural Development and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka.
