Thank You for a Successful Day of Learning
The Center for Engagement and Community Development and the Staley School of Leadership Studies would like to thank all who contributed to the success of A Day of Learning: Food Security Engagement Symposium which was held on April 4, 2016. A special thank you goes out to the sponsors, keynote speakers, Ignite speakers, and poster presenters.
The engagement symposium was attended by approximately 120 people, and featured wonderful speakers and topics that covered a wide-variety of methods to address the issues of food security.
The two keynote speakers delivered fantastic speeches. Robert Egger, Founder of DC Central Kitchen and Campus Kitchens and current CEO of the L.A. Kitchen gave a compelling talk on his subject, “The Power of Food.” Tim Eatman, Associate Professor of Education and Faculty Co-Director of Imagining America: Artists and Scholars in Public Life shared an inspiring message with his speech, “Publicly Engaged Scholarship: The Power of Imagining.”
Overall, the symposium was a great success! The Center for Engagement and Community Development and partners are now creating strategies to move forward. Once again, a sincere thank you to all who were involved.
