Tentative Agenda


The agenda will follow the three previous CAREER Proposal Workshops held in November 2004, June 2005, and Aril 2006, respectively. More information about these workshops can be found at www.ksu.edu/career/06index.htm.

 

7:00 – 8:00

*   Continental breakfast.

8:00 – 10:00

*   Presentation by Dr. George Hazelrigg (NSF Program director) on NSF CAREER proposal Guidelines

*   Questions and answers

10:00 – 10:30

*    Break

10:30 – 11:45

*   Three recent CAREER awardees present their stories and share their experiences

*   Questions and answers

12:00 – 13:00

*   Working lunch. Participants can have interactions with NSF program directors and other participants, asking more questions, sharing what they have learned, etc.

13:00 – 15:00

*   Dr. Hazelrigg describes procedures for a typical CAREER proposal panel meeting

*   Dividing into groups (with about 10 participants in each group) for mock panel review.  (About 5 proposals will be sent to workshop participants four weeks before the workshop.)

15:00 – 15:30

*   Break

15:30 – 16:00

*   Share mock panel review results from each group

*   Workshop evaluations
