DiscoverU Conference

DiscoverU - navigate your journey

Blue Key is excited to host the seventh annual DiscoverU Conference in Spring 2021.

K-State Blue Key Senior Honorary is inviting high school students in the AVID program to participate in a one-of-a-kind self-development and college preparation conference. This year the conference will be available at no cost to participants. We hope that the absence of a registration fee will make the conference more accessible to students. DiscoverU will be hosted virtually from March 1-5, 2021 with a flexible format to include as many AVID students and teachers as possible.

Students will have the opportunity to attend one-hour sessions offered each day via Zoom. The sessions explore a variety of different topics led by resources at K-State such as: Financing College with K-State Financial Aid, Involvement & Networking with the K-State Career Center, Stress Management & Mental Health with K-State Counseling Services, Study Tips/Time Management with the Academic Achievement Center, and Q&A Student Panel with K-State College Students.

Blue Key Senior Honorary hosts 150 sophomore and junior high school students in the AVID program to participate in a one-of-a-kind self-development and college preparation conference that will provide an inside look at college life and what it takes to get there. Students will not only have a chance to participate in traditional elements of a college visit, such as a campus tour and admissions information, but will also get hands-on experience through various workshops to help them explore career and major opportunities, practice networking skills, and develop their leadership potential. Participants will also have a chance to meet and ask questions with current K-State students, and even listen to some of the university's most influential leaders give advice about the college experience.
