This toolkit contains resources designed to assist department heads and unit directors in assessing and addressing issues related to equity for female and minority faculty members and unclassified professionals.
Each academic department is required by University Handbook policy to develop department documents containing criteria, standards, and guidelines for promotion, tenure, reappointment, annual evaluation, chronic low achievement, merit salary allocation, and the professorial performance award. These documents must be approved by a majority vote of the faculty members in the department, by the department head or chair, by the dean concerned, and by the provost.
MHEC helps improve access to education through the Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP). Since 1994, the MSEP has provided more affordable opportunities for students to attend out-of-state institutions. The MSEP serves as the Midwest's largest multi-state tuition reciprocity program.
