Definition:
When children do not understand what you expect of them describe the reasons for your limits.

Examples:
bulletFather tells his 13-year-old, No, you cannot go to the Jones's party because I know some of the kids will be drinking alcohol there.
bulletMother tells her 14-year-old, Yes, you can take driver's education but you can only drive by yourself when you are sixteen. You will be ready to drive by yourself then.
