Last call for human health-related session proposals for high school summer program
Submitted by College of Health and Human Sciences
Today is the final day to submit proposal ideas for the 2024 Health Professions Exploration Program. This weeklong program is designed for incoming high school juniors and seniors who are interested in a career helping others through the health care industry. Participants will come to meet, explore and experience a variety of health care professions and academic programs with a small cohort of like-minded high school students.
Due to the success of the program in 2022 and 2023, the Health Professions Exploration Program will again be hosted twice in 2024, with the first session running June 23-28 and the second July 7-12.
K-State faculty and staff interested in highlighting their area of research or teaching are invited to submit a session proposal. The program strives to include a variety of majors, programs, career paths and professions related to health. Those who feel they can provide hands-on opportunities that expose students to elements of health care, engaging and high-energy activities and discussions, interactive and observable health-related research, or a combination of these items, are encouraged to submit their proposals.
Proposals will be selected based on direct relation to health care professions and hands-on opportunities for students. It is not required that each person be available for both programs. Submissions must be completed by Dec. 11 for consideration. Notification of proposal acceptance will occur in January.
Those with questions related to the Health Professions Exploration Program can contact Chelsi Medved, program director, or visit the program website for additional information.
