Kansas Board of Regents September meeting agenda items

Submitted by Division of Communications and Marketing

The Kansas Board of Regents will meet on Sept. 20 and 21 at the Curtis State Office Building in Topeka. A livestream will be available for individuals to listen remotely.

The Regents will consider the following agenda items related to Kansas State University.

Consent agenda

K-State requests approval to amend the fiscal year 2024 capital improvements project plan for the demolition of the Natatorium and Gymnasium. Due to higher than anticipated costs and increased project scope, the budget has increased from $3.4 million to $5.5 million.

K-State requests approval to sell 102 acres of property in Riley County near Pillsbury Crossing. The property, once known as Frick Research Farm, was gifted to the university in 1966 but is no longer utilized by the College of Veterinary Medicine.

The Regents will adopt an updated resolution to acknowledge that the newly appointed regents shall not have access to certain classified information protected by federal law. The resolution transfers the board's management control over certain classified information to a Security Executive Committee.

Discussion agenda

The Regents will act on the unified state appropriation request for submission to the governor and the legislature.

Agendas and complete meeting minutes are available online.
