Research opportunity for those who regularly vape nicotine or abstain entirely from nicotine

Submitted by Charles Pickens

The Pickens Lab in the psychological sciences department is looking for people who are 21-30 years old and regularly vape nicotine four or more times per day. Participants should be willing to abstain from vaping for 12 hours overnight. People who do not currently use any nicotine products or those who have no history of using nicotine are also needed to participate. All research will end before 10:30 a.m.

Participants will answer questions about the use of nicotine and other legal drug use. They will then participate in a computer-based learning task. Those who have previously participated in the colored line discrimination study or colored rectangle discrimination study through the psychological sciences department may not participate in this study.

The research study can be completed in 45 minutes, and participants will receive $15 for their participation. If interested, please contact Kathleen McDaniel at kkmcda22@k-state.edu. This project was approved by the K-State Institutional Review Board and received approval No. 11498.
