Volunteers needed for study on treating depression

Submitted by Joyce Baptist

Joyce Baptist, professor of applied human sciences in the College of Health and Human Sciences' couple and family therapy program, is looking for participants ages 18 to 65 to volunteer for a clinical study.

The study aims to improve treatment for recurrent depression — depression that has not been responsive to at least two types of treatments. These treatments may include either two types of antidepressant medication, two types of psychotherapy or an antidepressant medication and any form of psychotherapy.

Volunteers will be randomized into one of two treatment groups, where they will receive 16 sessions of either Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

To volunteer to participate or for more details, please contact julia65@k-state.edu

The project has been reviewed by the Institutional Review Board and received approval No. 11206.
