American composer Gwyneth Walker residency and gala

American composer Gwyneth Walker will be at K-State Monday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 22.

March 21 will feature a Gala Concert of her music at 7:30 p.m. in All Faiths Chapel, performed by students and faculty of the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance. The "Sorores Duo," music faculty member Amy Rosine, soprano, and Sandra Mosteller, clarinet, will premiere the cycle 'Emily!' on the poetry of Emily Dickinson. Other featured performers are Collegiate Chorale, under the direction of Julie Yu; Cora Cooper, violin; Susan Maxwell, bassoon; Reg Pittman, tenor; Patricia Thompson, mezzo-soprano; Cheryl Richt, soprano, and pianists Amanda Arrington and Songhwa Chae. 

Walker is a prolific composer whose music is widely performed in academic, sacred and professional settings.
