Nichols selected for inaugural leadership program

Submitted by Mary Rankin

Chassy Nichols, assistant budget fiscal officer in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering at K-State, has been selected as a participant in the new Emerging Leaders Program of the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

From a large group of applicants, 73 high-potential, finance and business staff members at colleges and universities across the country were selected for the yearlong online program. Together they will work to enhance their personal leadership skills, examine the impact of the business office and cross-campus relationships and gain a better understanding of the present state and future of higher education.

Applicants were asked to demonstrate a commitment to furthering their careers in higher education finance as well as a strong potential for advancement. The new program reflects the association's organizational priority to strengthen and diversify the chief business officer pipeline. Participants represent 58 institutions and 27 states.
