Update from Counseling Services

Submitted by Kodee Walls

Counseling Services is open for business. We're thrilled to update the K-State family about our telebehavioral individual and group therapy services. Using a HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform, our therapists continue to provide initial and ongoing care for K-State students. Any student who has paid the privilege fee and is interested in accessing Counseling Services can call the front desk at 785-532-6927 to schedule an appointment. The first appointment will be to assess the student's current concerns and to direct them to the best option to meet their needs.

We also want to continue highlighting our therapy groups, live workshops and mindfulness meetings. Our mindfulness meetings are available to anyone who is interested in joining, simply follow the above-provided link. For students interested in group therapy or workshops, they can follow the link to the "My Counseling Services" account. Once logged in, students can access the "Groups/Workshops" tab to sign up. A member of Counseling Services will contact students who sign up for either of these opportunities to ensure they are connected to the appropriate provider.

Counseling Services also continues to offer crisis services. However, because we are working remotely, it may take additional time to connect with the student after they call the office. If you believe the student is in immediate danger, please encourage them to call 1-800-273-8255, text "HELP" to 741741, or seek their local emergency department rather than referring them to Counseling Services.
