Music education professors present at national, international conferences

Phillip Payne, assistant professor of music, and Frederick Burrack, associate professor of music education and director of the office of assessment, presented their research at the National Association for Music Education's Biennial National Conference in St. Louis from March 28-31.

Payne presented "Relationships Among Personality, Timbre Preference, Gender and Music Instrument Selection," and Burrack presented the session "Programs that Work: Teacher Recruitment Ideas from Across the Country".

Payne and Burrack also co-presented a paper titled "The Impact of Cutbacks on School Music Programs in Three Midwestern States" at the International Conference of the American Educational Research Association in Vancouver from April 13-17 with their colleagues Daniel Hellman from Missouri State University and Dale Bazan from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
