Wind ensemble performs tonight in McCain Auditorium

Submitted by Donald Linn

The K-State Wind Ensemble will present its final concert of the semester at 7:30 p.m. tonight in McCain Auditorium.

The band is under the direction of Frank Tracz, director of bands, and will perform an interesting music program inspired by the thoughts and dreams of children including works by Ryan George, Kevin Walczyk, David Maslanka, and Leonard Bernstein. The concert will also feature Tod Kerstetter, associate professor of music, as a clarinet solist on an interesting new work for clarinet and wind ensemble, Concerto Scion. The band will also be performing the monumental "A Child's Garden of Dreams" by David Maslanka. The K-State band department will also be hosting the Wind Ensemble from Seaman High School, under the direction of Mr. Cary Stahly.

The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. in McCain Auditorium and is open to the public. Admission is free.
