Submitted by Kayla Savage

Individuals interested in learning a new language have several opportunities this spring through UFM Community Learning Center.

Mandarin Chinese for children and adults meets for 12 sessions between Jan. 23 and May 5 and is a practical language class for both beginners and experienced learners. Instructors are the faculty and staff of Confucius Institute at K-State.

Introductory Conversational French begins Jan. 31 and focuses on basic French phrases for day-to-day scenarios. Instructor Michelle Armouni has been speaking French for more than 30 years.

Beginning Conversational Sign Language begins Feb. 20 and builds a basic knowledge of American Sign Language. Instructors Toni Kroll and Aimee Krause have more than 40 years of combined signing experience.

UFM Community Learning Center offers a variety of community education courses for learning and personal enrichment opportunities throughout the K-State semester. Courses are taught by community members and K-State students, staff and faculty with a desire to share their knowledge with others. UFM courses are open to the public.
