Engineering extension awarded grant for energy-related services

Submitted by David Carter

The Office of Engineering Extension at Kansas State University received a $48,200 grant to partner with the Kansas Corporation Commission to offer no-cost energy audits, renewable energy site assessments and related services to small businesses and agricultural producers in Kansas' Rural Opportunity Zone counties.

The ultimate goal of the partnership is to identify cost-effective energy efficiency improvements for these entities and assist them in applying for federal grant funds through the U. S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Energy for America Program.
