Job lessons: Future teachers get chance to connect with more than 60 school districts at education on-campus interviews

Submitted by Communications and Marketing

Future teachers are about to get an education in networking and job searching.

More than 60 school districts will be at Bramlage Coliseum on Monday, March 5, for Education On-Campus Interviews. This annual event, hosted by Kansas State University's career and employment services, provides a way for K-State education students to connect with school districts from Kansas and the surrounding area to secure jobs upon graduation.

K-State students interested in interviewing with participating school districts can sign up online until midnight Feb. 28. Students can sign up by visiting the career and employment services' website at http://www.k-state.edu/ces and logging into "My CES Account."

On March 5 from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., students and alumni who were not able to sign up online for an interview -- either because of already full schedules or the district was not seeking their particular major -- will be given the opportunity to network with school districts and potentially secure an interview later that day.

Interviews begin at 10 a.m. for those who signed up online or have been selected during the networking time.

Students majoring in education who may not be able to attend the networking portion of the day are encouraged to volunteer at the event, which would allow for more interaction with attending employers. Anyone interested in volunteering should contact Alison Sotkovsi at alison@k-state.edu.

Those attending Education On-Campus Interviews should dress professionally and bring copies of their resume, whether attending to network or interview.
