K-State University Choir to perform May 5

Submitted by Zachary Seckman

The K-State University Choir is putting on its spring concert at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, in Kirmser Hall in McCain Auditorium. A variety of repertoire will be performed by 22 students representing a wide array of majors on campus.

University Choir — much like the University Band — is a unique class at K-State. As part of the music education curriculum, it prepares undergraduates to lead musical ensemble rehearsals before teaching in public/private schools. This choir ultimately serves as the lab portion of the choral conducting class. These undergraduates are expected to prepare lesson plans on their assigned piece of choral music, and then follow the plans with the help an instructor.

This year's undergraduates include Stephanie Andra, Karis Dolenz, Emily Fish, Talia Falcon, Kellyn Harrison, RJ Leonard and Zachary Seckman.
