Experience a night of diverse music at the 2014 Little Apple Music Festival as a part of Rhythm and Brews Weekend with the acoustic Americana roots act The Steel Wheels. The free festival starts at 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, at Larry Norvell Band Shell in City Park as part of the city's Arts in the Park series.

Joining The Steel Wheels is a jazz group led by K-State's Wayne Goins, rock band Vineyard, new blues artist Noah Hoehn and blues rock artist Samantha Fish. Listen to samples of festival artists online. The Steel Wheels are brought to you by a grant from the Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Open from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 2, the family-friendly area will feature face painting, a balloon artist, inflatables provided by Fort Riley's MWR, a photo booth and K-State's Willie Wildcat. Other booths will include the Manhattan Arts Center, Wildcat 91.9, the Manhattan Public Library and K-State Athletics. In addition to the lineup at City Park, Bluestem Bistro will once again host a jazz brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 3 featuring Wayne Goins.

The event is a collaborative effort of the K-State Student Union Program Council, or UPC; Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department; Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau; and Fort Riley's MWR. Other sponsors include the Dow Center for Multicultural and Community Studies, Ag Press, Bluestem Bistro, Holiday Inn at the Campus and Little Apple Toyota Honda.
