Biology graduate student Clint Gregory receives honorable mention in NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

Clint Gregory, graduate student in biology, Gretna, Nebraska, received an honorable mention in the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. These scholarships are highly competitive and prestigious.
The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program recognizes outstanding students who are pursuing research-based master's and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. National Science Foundation received more than 14,000 applications for the 2014 competition.
Gregory researches notochord morphogenesis in the marine invertebrate chordate Ciona intestinalis. His adviser is Michael Veeman, assistant professor in biology. The proposal that Gregory submitted to the program involved investigating the role of TGF-beta signaling in Ciona notochord morphogenesis.
He graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with honors in May of 2011, majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.
