New Faculty Institute luncheon Feb. 14

Submitted by Esther Swilley

The Teaching and Learning Center invites all new faculty to the New Faculty Institute luncheon on Friday, Feb. 14.  Our lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Room 227 of the K-State Student Union.

Our theme, "Teaching and Research at a Land-Grant University," will be highlighted by our speakers: Steven Dandaneau, vice provost for undergraduate studies, and Don Boggs, associate dean for academic programs for the College of Agriculture. This luncheon provides new, and fairly new, faculty the opportunity to learn more about what it takes to have a great future at K-State.

The New Faculty Institute is a universitywide program to introduce newly hired faculty to our missions of teaching, research and service, and to facilitate their success at K-State. The New Faculty Institute will offer information, networking, training and peer mentoring. The institute facilitates the transition of newly-hired faculty members into the K-State academic environment by providing information and tools that can help them become successful as educators and researchers at Kansas State University.

Each month the New Faculty Institute offers social luncheons filled with information, socializing and food! The institute is open to all faculty who started at K-State in 2012 and 2013.

For more information, contact Esther Swilley, institute coordinator, at esthers@k-state.edu, or Jana Fallin, director, Center for Teaching and Learning, at 785-532-7828.

Please RSVP by Tuesday, Feb. 11, by clicking here.

We look forward to seeing you!
