Advanced Manufacturing Institute Selects Fall Interns

(Manhattan, Kan., August 23, 2007) – The Advanced Manufacturing Institute at Kansas State University has selected 34 students to serve as interns during the fall 2007 semester.

The institute's internship program allows students to advance their knowledge and skills through hands-on experience with client projects.

In the last decade, the Advanced Manufacturing Institute has mentored more than 400 interns, according to Brad Kramer, institute director. Internship opportunities are available for students in engineering, product design, business, journalism and mass communications, computer science and various other majors.

"The projects I've worked on at the Advanced Manufacturing Institute have taught me valuable skills that I can use in my final year of school and in my career," said Garrison Pierzynski, an intern and a junior in chemical engineering, Manhattan. "The Advanced Manufacturing Institute has allowed me to gain a thorough knowledge of industrial processes and has exposed me to experiences that aren't taught in the classroom."
