TAPS Awards Banquet set for Feb. 21 in Garden City

Producers, industry partners and the public are invited to attend the 2025 KSU-TAPS Awards Banquet on Feb. 21 in Garden City, where results from the latest TAPS competition season will be shared and winning teams announced.

Farming rarely comes down to one decision. During the 2025 KSU-TAPS season, participants navigated 78,717 individual decision options across seven management categories, including irrigation timing and amount, nitrogen strategy, crop inputs and marketing. Those choices created nearly 4.71 × 10⁸⁸ possible management strategies.

The banquet will walk attendees through what actually played out in the field — which decisions influenced yield, which impacted water use and which ultimately drove profitability. Full-season results will be presented ahead of the official report release.

The event is open to all who are interested in farm management, water use and profitability in western Kansas agriculture.

The evening will include a social, dinner and awards program recognizing top-performing teams.
