Join the 2024 KSU-TAPS Sprinkler Irrigated Corn Farm Management Competition

The inaugural 2024 KSU-TAPS Sprinkler Irrigated Corn Farm Management Competition, will be hosted at the Northwest Research-Extension Center in Colby, KS. The TAPS competition is a unique program that brings producers together to compete using plots at the University Research-Extension Center.

KSU-TAPS 2024 Sprinkler Irrigated Corn Farm Management Competition

The competition will focus on maximizing profitability and input use efficiency of sprinkler irrigated corn under a low capacity well reflective of Northwest Kansas. Management decisions will include planting date, hybrid selection, seeding rate, irrigation, and nitrogen amount and timing. Decisions will be submitted using the competition website and will be implemented in the field by university specialists. Each participating team will receive data and information collected by university specialists, along with access to the latest commercial technology, to inform their management decisions.
