Mission Statement

S.A.F.E Zone acknowledges the intersectionality across the human difference continuum by educating and fostering respect for multifaceted personal identities (e.g., sexuality, gender identity, class, religion, ability status, national origin, cultures, creed, and other preferences). The S.A.F.E Zone teams mobilizes campus-wide and community resources to assure physical, emotional, and mental health safety measures and practices. By placing a S.A.F.E Zone sticker or button on an office door, backpack, or laptop, S.A.F.E Zone allies signify that they are someone who will support and advocate for people with historically excluded, underrepresented, marginalized, or silenced identities.
