Emergency Management

Mission

To protect the university community by leading a comprehensive, integrated approach to emergency management that emphasizes preparedness, mitigation, effective response, and resilient recovery. Through collaboration, training, planning, and continuous improvement, we ensure the safety, continuity, and well‑being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Vision

A safe, resilient, and well‑prepared university where every member of the community is empowered to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies—and where preparedness is embedded in the culture, operations, and values of the institution.

The emergency response guides provide information about what you should do in the case of various emergencies. Read through the guides so you know what actions to take during an emergency.
K-State Alerts is the university's emergency notification system. It communicates time-critical emergency information that has an immediate impact on our campuses. This could be related to weather, campus operations, closures or other emergencies.
K-State Safe is the official mobile safety app for Kansas State University. It provides a direct connection to K-State Police, tools to help you stay safe on campus, notifications and alerts, emergency response guides, maps, as well as various health, safety and wellness resources.
