Achieving our goals as a next-generation land-grant university requires us to innovate, both as an institution and as a member of the Kansas Board of Regents. Learn more about the initiatives that are driving change and pushing our momentum forward in an exciting new direction.

The university's Academic Program Review and Revitalization, or APRR, process utilizes a strategic, data-informed approach that drives innovative curriculum, supports continuous program improvement, and promotes financial sustainability by assuring we meet contemporary market demands and opportunities.

The Next-Gen K-State strategic plan includes an applied learning imperative that sets the stage for K-State to provide every degree-seeking student with applied learning experiences before they graduate. The rapid development and adoption of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies present opportunities to enhance academic, research and operational activities at K-State — but they also raise questions around ethical use, academic integrity and operational practices. A thoughtful and strategic framework is needed to ensure these technologies are used in ways that align with the university’s vision of serving Kansas, our nation and the world as a next-generation land-grant university.

Our new Budget Transformation Initiative will empower us to achieve our goal of building a revised budget model that drives the university’s strategic priorities forward and establish a wrap-around budget framework that will help us create and foster the agility required to position our institution for future success and greater impact toward our mission.

K-State's digital/online content is required to be fully compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA standard, by April 24, 2026.
