Position Description:
The Office of Educational Innovation and Evaluation (OEIE) is looking for a competent, energetic, and productive team player to join our office. We provide comprehensive and collaborative project development, strategic planning, and evaluation services for externally funded projects, K-State colleges and programs, state agencies, foundations, and other universities.
This position will assist the research and evaluation team on an externally-funded project within the College of Education. Responsibilities will include conducting literature reviews, managing and organizing data, conducting data analyses (primarily document review/analysis), producing written, tabular and visual materials for reports and presentations, assisting in the preparation of reports and papers for publication or presentations, and other duties as assigned. This position will provide a high quality graduate student with practical experience in research with a well-known national program, as well as the opportunity to learn more about the publication process.
Required Qualifications and Dispositions:
- Successful experience using qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Successful experience analyzing, interpreting and reporting qualitative data.
- Ability to process/interpret large amounts of qualitative data to identify trends/themes.
- Ability to produce polished work in a variety of written documents (including technical reports, research summaries, formal evaluation reports and manuscripts for publication).
- Ability to assist in conducting interviews and focus groups and transcribing recordings from these events for data analysis and reporting.
- Successful experience in conducting literature reviews, document reviews and content analyses.
- Ability to use a variety of computer programs and applications for managing data, designing tables and graphs (in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint) and conducting qualitative or quantitative data analysis.
- Capacity and willingness to learn new software and research and evaluation methods.
- Preferred – Experience in social network analysis.
- Preferred – Experience in developing instruments or protocols for data collection.
- Preferred – Experience in disabilities and/or education research areas.
- Preferred – Experience securing data and mapping in ArcGIS.

Graduate Students in our office are expected to have excellent computer skills, communication skills, and a commitment to team approaches for evaluation and research.
Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and have a valid driver's license.
