Prathap Parameswaran
Dr. Prathap Parameswaran is an environmental engineer with expertise in biological wastewater treatment and sustainable resource recovery using innovative environmental biotechnology. After earning his B.S. in chemical engineering in India and completing his M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental engineering in the U.S., he conducted postdoctoral and research scientist work at Arizona State University’s Biodesign Institute. Currently at Kansas State University, he leads pilot-scale anaerobic membrane bioreactor operations for swine wastewater treatment and focuses on anaerobic digestion, waste pretreatment, microbial electrochemical technologies for energy and valuable product generation, and the development of green biorefineries using photosynthetic microalgae.
