Economic Development
As a land-grant university, K-State is dedicated to excellent teaching, the creation and application of knowledge, and engagement with public and private partners across Kansas, USA, and around the world. The goal of economic development plan is to increase job opportunities, income levels, and the standard of living for individuals living in the area. The plan also involves creating incentives for businesses to invest in the region, such as tax breaks or subsidies, and developing policies to encourage sustainable economic growth that benefits the entire community. Development of industry engagement and ecosystem of partners (such as local governments, industry partners, channel members, part manufacturers within Kansas region, outside of region, and global base) is also important. It should be aligned with K-State’s Economic Prosperity Plan (developed in 2021) and the objectives of K-State Research and Extension.
