Enhance your surveys with these Qualtrics features
Qualtrics offers more than a way to collect responses. Its built-in features can help personalize surveys, guide respondents through the right questions and automate routine tasks.
Here’s how those features come together when building a registration form for a campus workshop.
It starts out simple. Collect names, email addresses and a few registration details, then you’re ready to send it.
Then your colleagues start asking questions:
- Faculty need different questions than staff.
- Can we personalize the confirmation message?
- We need to ask about accessibility accommodations.
- Can someone let me know if a participant requests follow-up?
Fortunately, Qualtrics includes features that can help you handle each of those requests without creating multiple surveys or adding extra manual work.
As you build the registration form, you realize not everyone should answer the same questions. Someone presenting at the workshop needs different questions than someone attending, so Display Logic shows only the questions that apply.
Next, you remember that faculty, staff and students each need slightly different registration paths. Instead of creating multiple forms, Survey Flow guides each group through the questions that are relevant to them.
You also want the registration to feel more personal. Piped Text automatically uses information participants have already entered, such as their name or department, in confirmation messages and later questions.
Before publishing the form, you want to make sure every registration includes the information you need. Validation Requirements help ensure required fields are completed and entries, such as an email address, are in the correct format.
Finally, you think about what happens after someone submits the form. If a participant requests accessibility accommodations or asks for additional information, Workflows can automatically notify the event organizer, so follow-up happens without manually reviewing every response.
Whether you’re planning a workshop, collecting event registrations or building a campus survey, these features can help create a better experience for respondents while reducing the work required behind the scenes.
