K-State students wanted for paid climate data summer camp – Applications requested by April 15
Ten K-State students are wanted for the paid Interdisciplinary Summer Camp for Weather Resilience and Engineering Innovation that K-State geography and agronomy faculty members are co-hosting May 27-June 5 in Iowa City, Iowa. Prior experience is not necessary and participants receive $1,500 stipends, with all costs for travel, lodging and food covered.
The application deadline has been extended to April 15 (applications will be considered until camp is full). For more information, email Dr. Abigail Langston, geography, alangston@k-state.edu.
Students will gain hands-on environmental career experience:
- Analyze real weather and climate data sets
- Explore cutting edge sensor, UAV, and AI technologies
- Create a team project for employment portfolio
- Participate in field work and networking activities with students and faculty from four states.
Undergraduate Research Awards
Our college is committed to offering all Arts and Sciences students research and creative opportunities, and we help make it possible by providing $1,500 Undergraduate Research Awards every semester. Applications for fall 2026 are due May 1.
Undergraduate Internship Awards
Undergraduate degree-seeking students enrolled in any major in the College of Arts and Sciences are invited to apply for internship awards to provide financial support while engaging in an internship, apprenticeship or practicum experience. Applications for fall 2026 are due May 1.
T-shirt design contest for AI Symposium
K-State students are invited to submit 2026 Heartland AI Symposium T-shirt designs in two categories: traditional, human-made art and AI-generated art. Designs or images should represent this year’s theme: AI in Our Society. Details about specifications, eligibility, prizes and more are on the website. The contest closes May 8.
