For the annual K-State Open House on Sat., April 18, our departments welcomed visitors at our Arts and Sciences Expo in the K-State Student Union and hosted fun activities in their facilities! See some highlights below.
K-State chemistry students conduct playful experiments with children and other Open House visitors.
Guests got to try printmaking with the Art Department.
The Chemistry Magic Show was a dazzling showcase of science in action, with colorful reactions, flashes of light and mystical smoke!
Philosophy major Bianca Ens welcomes guests to “ask a philosopher” their burning life questions.
The Physics Department made ice cream using liquid nitrogen!

Arts and Sciences Student Well-Being and Belonging Summit
At our inaugural Student Well-Being and Belonging Summit, K-State First Lady Sally Linton gave a keynote address and a panel of students representing a wide array of student organizations provided insight on K-State students’ general well-being and feeling of belonging.
Four students—Alex Watkins, Arts and Sciences and Education Ambassador; Noah McPherson, Black Student Union; Sydney Robbins, WellCat Ambassador; Ava Gustin, winner of Doug Benson Award for promoting belonging—served as student panelists at our college’s inaugural Student Well-Being and Belonging Summit. Here they are posed with Arts and Sciences Recruitment Director Zac Malcolm, far left, and Assistant Dean Kimathi Choma, far right.
