K-State Libraries helps researchers strengthen evidence synthesis through specialized support

Researchers at Kansas State University can access a K-State Libraries service designed to strengthen the quality, rigor and transparency of evidence synthesis research.

Evidence synthesis brings together findings from multiple studies to answer a research question or provide a comprehensive view of a topic. Methods such as systematic reviews and scoping reviews use structured, standardized approaches to minimize bias and improve the reliability of conclusions.

Through the service, research teams can partner with librarians trained in evidence synthesis methods and reporting standards. Librarians work collaboratively with researchers to develop comprehensive, transparent, and reproducible search strategies that help identify relevant studies and support high-quality reviews.

The service is available to researchers across disciplines and experience levels, from graduate students considering their first review to experienced teams. Researchers are encouraged to reach out early in the review planning process.

“Working with a librarian improved both the quality and efficiency of our evidence synthesis. Having an expert lead the search allowed me to focus on interpretation and application, highlighting the strength of team science,” said Carah Holesovsky, doctoral student in kinesiology.
