Student Support and Accountability welcomes Mozee, Dozier to team
Student Support and Accountability, or SSA, welcomed two new faces this summer: Roderick Mozee and Jackie Dozier. Both will provide direct support to students and assist with policy oversight related to conduct processes.
“SSA strives to provide consistent, timely services to students facing challenges during their time at the university. We are here to help no matter how complex the situation and are excited to welcome Dr. Mozee and Dean Dozier to our team as we continue to serve the campus community to the best of our abilities,” said Andy Thompson, assistant vice president and senior associate dean of student support and accountability.
Mozee is serving as assistant dean and director of conduct. He has more than seven years of experience in higher education and has served in leadership roles spanning student affairs, career development, academic advising, student conduct and retention.
In his role, Mozee will oversee two critical conduct processes, provide support for students in several colleges and advise the judicial branch of the Student Governing Association. He will also lead the response to all reports of violations of the Student Code of Conduct, including hazing concerns. Mozee will be the primary liaison for students in the College of Health and Human Sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences with last names O-Z, and Exploratory Studies.
Mozee earned a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership from the University of Dayton, where his research examined the impact of belonging on student persistence and retention. He is a three-time graduate of Kentucky State University, a historically Black college and university, and a first-generation college graduate.
“I look forward to my new role at K-State and the opportunity to support student success initiatives. The work of this office is important in ensuring that students are supported as they matriculate through college,” Mozee said.
Dozier is serving as assistant dean, joining the SSA team after serving as an academic advisor in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering and a community director in residential life at Fort Hays State University. Dozier will be the primary liaison for students in the College of Agriculture, College of Arts and Sciences with last names A-N, College of Education and College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dozier earned a Master of Science in higher education student affairs from Fort Hays State University and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood development and learning from Central Michigan University.
“I’m excited to be supporting and guiding students in this new role,” Dozier said. “I look forward to continuing to empower and advocate for students, as well as helping give them the tools to advocate for themselves in the future.”
Mozee and Dozier join Thompson and Laurel Moody, senior assistant dean. Thompson serves as director of the office and chairs the university’s threat management policy for students. Moody serves as the primary liaison for students in the Carl R. Ice College of Engineering, College of Business Administration and College of Architecture, Planning & Design.
