Nick Brown named director of graduate recruitment
Following the conclusion of a national search, Nick Brown has been selected as Kansas State University's Director of Graduate Recruitment within the Office of Enrollment Management.
Brown brings more than 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in recruitment, admissions, enrollment operations and higher education. His career began at Manhattan Christian College, where he advanced from admissions counselor to assistant director and ultimately became the director of admissions and recruitment. In that role, he led strategic enrollment planning, recruitment and marketing efforts, and a team of professional and student staff while achieving enrollment growth and improving operational efficiency.
For nearly a decade at K-State, Brown has held increasingly significant leadership roles within undergraduate recruitment and admissions. Most recently, as associate director for operations and transfer articulation, he provided leadership across admission evaluation, student records, document processing, international admissions and immigration, and transfer articulation.
Throughout these roles, Brown has built a strong reputation for working across the university to solve complex problems, improve processes, and develop solutions in close partnership with academic colleges and campus partners.
His leadership has contributed to several major university initiatives, including modernizing transfer articulation, redesigning undergraduate Slate application and admission workflows, improving international admission processes, developing the MHK Pathway program, and creating more efficient and student-friendly admission practices.
Since serving as interim director of graduate recruitment, Brown has already worked closely with deans, program directors, the Graduate School and Enrollment Management partners to strengthen graduate recruitment efforts, expand recruitment pipelines, improve communications and increase the visibility and coordination of graduate recruitment across K-State.
In his permanent role, Brown will build on this experience to lead a more coordinated, data-informed, universitywide graduate recruitment strategy and work alongside the Office of Enrollment Management's academic partners to support K-State’s graduate enrollment goals.
