Student organizations can earn funding by volunteering at All-University Career Fair

Many student organizations face the challenge of securing the funding needed to support the activities, events and initiatives that are important to their members and campus communities. From hosting social events and educational programs to supporting philanthropic efforts and other organizational priorities, these activities often require financial resources that can be difficult for student organizations to obtain.

Finding opportunities to earn funding while also contributing to the Kansas State University community can help organizations meet these needs and continue pursuing their goals.

In conjunction with the All-University Career Fair each fall, student volunteers have an opportunity to secure some of this necessary funding while also supporting student networking opportunities at the event. The All-University Career Fair pays organizations $10 per hour for the time their members volunteer. This funding is paid directly to the organization and can be available as early as October.

Organizations can pledge between 10 and 50 hours of their members’ time to the Career Center using a Qualtrics form. Once a pledge is made, the organization’s president and advisor will receive a link to a sign-up form in which students can select individual shifts from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During this signup process, students can also choose their individual tasks. Volunteers can sign up online.

The roles offered vary, from helping set up employer booths to assisting with student check-in as they enter the career fair, eager to meet employers. “I would say that it is a very easygoing and overall fun event,” says Rae Daniel, a graduate student in public health who worked at the All-University Career Fair in 2025. “It was a really great experience, and the Career Center made it very easy and enjoyable to work alongside students and employers.”
