SGA Student Allocations Committee funding now open for student organizations
The Kansas State University Student Governing Association's Student Allocations Committee, or SAC, provides funding opportunities for student organizations planning travel, hosting events or preparing for competitions during the academic year.
Available funding opportunities
- General travel and event allocations: Open to all registered student organizations, both sponsored and affiliated. Funding can cover event registration fees, travel expenses and lodging, with a cap of $200 per student traveler.
- Competitive sports clubs: Annual budget applications for non-NCAA competitive sports clubs competing against other universities will open later this fall.
- Academic competition teams: Annual funding requests for recognized competition teams will open later this academic year.
Key guidelines and deadlines
- 35-day rule: All standard budget requests must be submitted on OrgCentral at least 35 days prior to the planned event or departure date. Late submissions cannot be considered by the committee.
- Winter break travel notice: Any funding requests for events taking place between Dec. 1 and Feb. 15 must be submitted by the first Friday in November or 35 days prior, whichever is longer, to allow time for committee review and Senate passage before campus closes for break.
How to apply
- Submit a Budget Request Form, or BRF, on OrgCentral under your organization's portal.
- Give a scheduled 10-minute presentation to the Student Allocations Committee in the K-State Student Union.
- Receive committee recommendation and follow through with Student Senate ratification.
