Where data meets strategy
K-State's new Master of Marketing Science degree will address the needs of an evolving industry

In January 2027, Kansas State University's College of Business Administration will launch the Master of Marketing Science. This new 30-credit-hour, 100% online graduate program addresses the evolving needs of the industry by blending strategy with advanced technology and a focus on ROI-driven results.
Keeping up with the industry
There's a persistent gap in the marketing industry: professionals who understand theory but struggle to apply it in fast-moving, data-driven environments. The Master of Marketing Science was designed specifically to close that gap, producing graduates who are ready to contribute from day one.
"In alignment with the Next-Gen K-State strategic plan, we seek to proactively meet the needs of learners, employers and society," said Kevin Gwinner, Edgerley family dean of the College of Business Administration. "The Master of Marketing Science reflects our institution's commitment to preparing students not just for the marketing industry as it exists today, but for where it is headed. This program gives graduates the analytical tools, hands-on experience and strategic mindset that employers are actively looking for."
Built for today's marketing landscape
As a STEM-designated degree, the program signals to employers that graduates bring quantitative rigor alongside marketing expertise. Core competencies include:
- Digital marketing strategy and execution
- Data analysis and predictive modeling
- Market research and customer insights
- Communication and stakeholder engagement
"We are equipping the next generation of marketing leaders with advanced technology, analytics and strategy skills to drive real-world business value," said Janis Crow, Master of Marketing Science director and professor of practice. "Designed in close collaboration with leading firms, this industry-focused curriculum guarantees our graduates possess the exact skills employers truly need today."
A resource for organizations
The program creates a direct benefit for companies and agencies by providing a pipeline of job-ready marketing professionals and facilitating collaboration on capstone student projects. These engagements allow organizations to work directly with student groups, giving them access to fresh ideas, talent recruitment and practical deliverables.
Setting the standard
The Master of Marketing Science joins a portfolio of graduate programs that have earned K-State consistent national recognition. U.S. News and World Report has repeatedly ranked the College of Business among the top online graduate programs in the country, a testament to the university's dedication to delivering rigorous, accessible and career-focused education.
